Why Have a Website?

I recently asked my fellow business owners on Instagram if they had a website or are just using social media. Nearly 75% answered they are only using social media, and it's no wonder! It can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to build a website. This process can be overwhelming for a small business owner who doesn't know where to start, and honestly, who has the time?
It is recommended to use your Facebook Business Page as your website for your first year in business. This is an excellent suggestion for those businesses with a small staff or even a one-person business operator. However, there are many benefits to having a website as a small business, and resources are abundant for business owners when they are ready to make the dive. Web design is one of our digital marketing services here at Bee's Knees Marketing Co.
Let's dive into a few main benefits of small businesses having their own website.

Maximize Branding
Having a website does many things from a branding perspective. Seeing your logo across a webpage creates credibility. This makes your business look polished and put together. You can share reviews, testimonials, or before & afters (whichever applies to your business) and have a page to encourage others to leave a review as well. People are more likely to buy your product/book your service after reading positive personal reviews. Most businesses even have an "Our Story" or "About Us" page, allowing clients/customers to read about the company and how and why they started, leaving a more personal impression.
Increase Exposure
Your website is a perfect place to host content from your other digital platforms such as video reels, Youtube videos, Facebook events, a business blog, or Instagram giveaways. These all boost search engine optimization (or SEO), which drives traffic to whatever webpage you want your target audience to land. Maybe your business is hosting a fundraiser or is a nonprofit organization, and you can drive people straight to the donation page. With a website, it's easier than ever to post updates or make announcements such as COVID 19 updates or announcing a sale. Most websites allow users to subscribe to email updates for any significant website changes or announcements. This makes email marketing a breeze!
Taking Payments
Having a website allows customers to buy your products right from your online store. You can create limited-time or exclusive sales with special promo codes for those subscribed to your website. This rewards loyal customers and encourages new ones to subscribe. Not only is this great for e-commerce, but clients can book your services and pay online either at booking or upon services. These features are customizable and can be used in any way to best suit your business. Most websites allow you to send invoices or directly to your clients/customers and have essential bookkeeping services for free or for a low rate.
Most websites can be started and managed at an affordable rate for small business owners. When marketed and managed properly, websites are an asset and can be seen as an investment. Not sure where to start? Reach out today by emailing info@beeskneesmarketing.co
