August 2020

Updated: Sep 1, 2020

Another month of this unpredictable year has come and gone. Reflecting on the past month, I was surprised at how much I was able to accomplish and experience. I had plenty of work and play - I was able to work with seven local businesses and visit six local restaurants.

We began August by hosting our Website Launch Giveaway. We partnered with six local businesses to bring you our biggest giveaway yet! Here's a list of the generous participated: Breaüxdoo Bakery, Couer Designs of Idaho, Honey & Lemon Imagery, Little Euro, That Pour Lady, and Valley Candles. It couldn't have been possible without you guys! You can check out all the prizes that were up for grabs on Instagram @beeskneesmarketingco

I was able to do a photoshoot downtown with Envision This Photography, and here are some of the photos they snapped:

In addition to playing around with portraits, I received my second diploma, cap, and tassel in the mail. Woo hoo! I didn't attend my first graduation and was excited to participate in my second, but COVID. So here's to graduating!

My son and I went out to Ambrosia Bistro to celebrate, and it was fantastic. The food was so fresh, and the service was excellent. Two thumbs up!

I was able to venture out to a lot of new (to me) restaurants this month. I've been to Clover plenty of times for dinner, but I was able to experience their brunch recently, and it was terrific. I had the wild mushroom omelet, which I highly recommend. With the suggestions on social media (thanks, y'all), I visited Cochinito Taqueria for Taco Tuesday, and wow! I had the summer vegetable quesadilla and a fried maiitake mushroom taco with a watermelon man margarita that was out of this world. That same week I had to try Ladder Coffee Roaster's elote toast from their summer menu while they still had it. Yum! So unique and excellently executed.

I also stopped by for a quick lunch at No-Li Brewery. I had their XXL pretzel and the strawberry salad. I love their artwork, which is all a tribute to the features of Downtown Spokane.

I surprised my son to a visit to Kitty Cantina, which was the cutest thing ever. We're big cat lovers over here, so we had a blast. If you haven't been, I would recommend making reservations and arriving about 15 minutes early to enjoy a coffee before your scheduled kitty playtime. The kitties are so playful and sweet; it's genuinely adorable.

Speaking of sweet, I was able to interview Breaüxdoo Bakery as our first-ever "Meet the Owner" post. I was able to peek into their cookie labs, ask questions, and snap some photos. You can read it here. I just can't seem to stay away from those cookies! Seriously, SO GOOD!

The following week, I was able to take a photography workshop from Honey & Lemon Imagery. It was so informational, and I was able to snap some killer shots (stay tuned) at the Evermore Event Center in Deer Park. Such a beautiful venue that is beyond photogenic. Here is a photo from their website:

This month has been so eventful and full of Spokane's local businesses. I am blown away at all of the local support from our community during the first month in place and am so beyond grateful to be a part of Spokane's business owners. This is the beginning of some amazing things. Thank you for all the support!
